Your Bridge Programme
If you are comfortable with the basics of bridge and prefer friendly sessions, our Relaxed Bridge holidays are perfect for you. Suited for more novice players from non-affiliated clubs, or for anyone who wishes to ease themselves back into the game and progress their skills at a slower pace, these holidays focus on enjoyment and building confidence in a social environment. The programme also includes interactive seminars where you'll play hands based on the topic, offering a great way to step up to the next level of bridge. No Masterpoints will be awarded.

Enjoy a welcome drink with dinner, followed by evening bridge.
After breakfast, we’ll travel by coach to the Chatsworth Estate and begin our walk beside the River Derwent, heading towards Chatsworth House.
For generations, this magnificent estate has been the residence of the Dukes of Devonshire. Its rich history dates back to 1549, when Elizabeth and William Cavendish acquired it. Over the centuries, the house has undergone many transformations to become the remarkable structure we see today.
Our path will then lead us to Edensor, a quaint village that is home to St Peter’s Church – the final resting place of many members of the Cavendish family. From here, the trail continues through New Piece Wood, offering spectacular views of the Chatsworth Estate. We then pass through Calton Pastures before arriving at Manner Wood, and finally descend towards the delightful town of Bakewell – the only true town in the Peak District National Park. Be sure to sample local delicacies such as the famous Bakewell tart or the traditional Bakewell pudding while you’re there.
This is an easy to moderate 5-mile walk, lasting approximately 3 to 3.5 hours.

The picturesque limestone countryside of the southern Peak District awaits us today. After breakfast, we’ll travel by coach to Alstonefield, the starting point of our walk. From here, we’ll descend to Milldale and join the path alongside the serene River Dove, which marks the border between Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
Our route then takes us through Dovedale, a stunning limestone gorge nestled in the River Dove valley. Recognised as a National Nature Reserve for its unique habitats and diverse wildlife, this delightful riverside walk passes two caves, known as Dove Holes, and crosses Lover’s Leap.
Following the river across meadows to Coldwall Bridge, we’ll join the Manifold Trail leading to Ilam Park. Owned by the National Trust, the park boasts a charming visitor centre and tearooms – a perfect spot to finish our walk.
This is an easy 6.5-mile walk, lasting approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. There is an option to shorten this route – your local guides will provide details if required.

Please note: All of our walks are of an easy to moderate nature, so we recommend a reasonable level of fitness. It’s also important to bring the right equipment. For our walking tours, we suggest a pair of good-quality walking boots, weather-appropriate clothing with layers, a comfortable rucksack, a water bottle, and walking poles (not essential, but can help with climbs and descents). A packed lunch is included and provided by the hotel on walking days.
