Nestled in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, the 4-star Telford Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort overlooks the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge. Set in 170 acres of stunning grounds with an 18-hole golf course, there are wonderful views over the Shropshire Hills from its restaurant and terraces. Your stay includes a walking tour of Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town with a historic town centre, along with a visit to Ironbridge and Blists Hill, a 52-acre recreation of a Victorian town.

Your Bridge Programme
Play & Explore holidays are suited to intermediate players who wish to learn new skills, and regular players looking for a relaxed holiday with bridge.
Your duplicate bridge will be available every evening between 7:30pm and 10:30pm. We endeavour to vary these evening sessions, balancing between teams and pairs and playing relaxed and friendly bridge.
Bridge will also be offered some mornings or afternoons. These sessions are normally given over to open pairs/teams. Sessions may take place in the mornings instead of the afternoons, complimenting any included excursion programme.
Masterpoints are awarded on evening sessions, and on day sessions with over 5 tables.
During your bridge holiday, nothing is obligatory, and you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We don’t forget you are on holiday and our bridge programmes also allow time to relax, giving the opportunity for you to explore the surrounding area.

Today we travel by coach to the thriving medieval market town of Ludlow. On arrival, we are met by our walking guides, who will take us on a fascinating tour through this historic town centre. Along the way, we will take in the sights of the impressive ruins of Ludlow's Norman Castle, St Lawrence's Church (one of England's finest parish churches), and many of the 600 listed buildings including the beautiful Broad Street. We will also discover the stories of many historic characters who lived in the town, such as Catherine of Aragon and the Princes in the Tower.
After the tour concludes, there is time to explore Ludlow at leisure before we return by coach to our hotel. Enjoy dinner in the hotel tonight followed by evening bridge.

We head off by coach this morning and visit Ironbridge, a historic Shropshire village that is home to the Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you can walk across the world’s first cast-iron bridge, enjoy riverside wanders along the Severn, or browse the independent shops. We then head to Blists Hill Victorian Town.
Step back more than a hundred years and chat to the Townsfolk about their lives, explore their homes, workplaces and shops and see them at work in the Bakers, Candle Factory and Blacksmiths. This 52-acre site is a bustling recreation of a Victorian town where you can exchange pounds, shillings, and pence. Buy curious products in the chemist, grocers and drapers; discover what life was like for a Victorian housewife in the cottages and take a ride on the horse and carriage. With refreshment options available on site, you could enjoy a pint of ale in the New Inn pub, a delicious portion of traditionally made fish and chips, treat yourself to a bag of traditional sweets or relax at one of the two catering facilities with a hot drink and slice of cake.
There is plenty of time to explore here before we return by coach to the hotel. Dinner is included at the hotel, followed by evening bridge.
