The 5-star Barcelo Concorde Green Park Palace is probably the best located hotel in Port El Kantaoui, as it is one of the few hotels within walking distance of its popular marina, making it really easy to get around the resort. Set in 5 hectares of lush gardens, the palm trees tower majestically around the huge 1500 metre outdoor pool, leading down to its own fine sandy beach. It borders two 18-hole golf courses, so keen golfers do not even have to take a transfer to enjoy a few games of golf. The hotel offers extensive facilities that include a top of the range spa and indoor and outdoor pools. We play bridge in the Versailles Room and can enjoy the excellent all-inclusive drinks up until midnight.
See some incredible sights and experience the Tunisian way of life on our two included excursions. We explore El Jem, visiting the third largest Roman amphitheatre in the world and the stunning Mosaic Museum. Here, our knowledgeable local guide will delve into the history of the beautiful mosaics and life in the Roman villas.
Our second excursion takes us to the fascinating Medina of Sousse, where you can barter for goods and admire the local way of life. We also stop in Monastir and visit the incredible mausoleum of Bourguiba and view the Ribat.
Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break, and, in addition to playing bridge, we try to include interesting bridge seminars, hosted by your EBU-qualified director.
Your duplicate bridge will be available every evening between 7:45pm and 11:15pm. We endeavour to vary these evening sessions, balancing between teams and pairs and featuring at least one Swiss event during a two-week break.
Bridge will also be offered some afternoons between 2:30pm and 4:45pm. These sessions are normally given over to open pairs/teams.
Masterpoints are awarded on evening bridge sessions, and on day sessions with over 5 tables.
During your bridge holiday, nothing is obligatory, and you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We don’t forget you are on holiday and our bridge programmes also allow time to relax, giving the opportunity for you to explore the surrounding area.
El Jem (Day 4)
This circuit to El Jem allows you to discover its huge colosseum. The Amphitheatre of El Jem is the third largest amphitheatre in the Roman world after those of Rome and Capua, and perhaps the best preserved. The site has been classified as World Heritage by UNESCO since 1979.
Monastir and Sousse (Day 7)
Today, we visit the city of Monastir and pass by the coast, admiring one of the most cult cities of Tunisia. You can take advantage of your day to see the Ribat of Monastir, the mausoleum of Bourguiba, one of the largest fish markets in Tunisia, and the Marina of Monastir. On the way back, you will have a stopover at the Medina of Sousse, the ideal place to do your shopping and admire the local life of Tunisia.
Please Note: Flight-inclusive packages are available at an extra cost, with flights from London Gatwick and other regional UK departure airports and one piece of checked-in luggage included.
