This morning, our coach takes us the short distance to Piran, one of the Adriatic's best-preserved historic towns. Its Venetian-era buildings and narrow cobbled lanes are packed onto a slender peninsula, offering a wonderful glimpse into Slovenia's coastal heritage. In the company of a local guide, we explore the atmospheric old town and stroll around Tartini Square, before taking in sweeping sea views from the medieval town walls. After an included lunch at a nearby restaurant, there's free time to browse the shops or sample regional specialities in a waterfront café before we return to the hotel.
