"If you are looking for some winter sunshine in a beautiful setting, the Hotel Cordial in the delightful village of Mogán Playa will not disappoint.

The hotel staff dress in traditional Canarian attire, and the restaurant serves a wide variety of typical Spanish delicacies, alongside a huge selection of dishes every evening. The wine flowed bountifully over dinner which led to a very happy night of bridge.

The small fishing town of Mogán and the marina are a ten-minute stroll from the hotel, offering a large selection of shops, cafes and tavernas.

A number of the guests took a morning out on the water to go dolphin watching! They saw large pods which stayed with the boat for plenty of time for everyone to enjoy the experience. 

I joined several of our group to explore the island in a guided mini-bus tour. Our driver was very knowledgeable and took us across from south to north, seeing quaint traditional Spanish villages, looking down into the huge volcanic crater and, the highlight for me, visiting the cave house museum.

A few intrepid guests also joined me on the local bus to visit the free botanical garden a short drive away. It was not as impressive as the main botanical garden in the north of the island, but it provided a peaceful oasis, with lots of monarch butterflies and a canary song as the backdrop to enjoying the plants.

We are delighted that First for Bridge are returning to Mogán January 2027. As I am writing this looking out at a wet grey morning in Norfolk, I wish I was back in the sunshine of Mogán!" – Jane Tullett
